Waiting list

We are in an incredibly fortunate position that we now have no vacant plots. so from now on, if anybody would like a plot, they will need to submit a request in writing to Anne Hazelden (Secretary) at 16A Teign Village and they will be placed on a waiting list. We will be allocating plots with preference to those without an existing plot but existing plot holders will also be considered at the discretion of the committee.


The committee have made the decision that unfortunately we are unable to have willow growing on Teign Village Allotments. This is a matter that has been discussed at length at our committee meetings and we have reached this decision due to the long term impact willow will have on the site.

On a brighter note, we have organised some social events that hopefully we can all enjoy.

We will be hosting a coffee morning on Friday the 1st of August in Teign Village Social club starting at 10.30am. We will greatly appreciate any donations for a bring and buy stall and raffle prizes and please feel free to bring any plants or produce to sell, swap or give away.

Allotment Day

On Sunday 31 August we will be holding an “Allotment Day” to celebrate our beautiful allotments, have a chance to get together and raise some funds. We are planning some light-hearted competitions to include: the longest runner bean, the funniest looking vegetable and for the smaller children amongst us, a dinner plate garden and an animal made from vegetables.

We would like contributions for an allotment produce stall so if you have jams, chutneys or vegetables from your allotment, all donations will be gratefully received.

There will also be a BBQ, cream teas and games. Nearer the time, we will be posting flyers with more details.

And finally, a note from the committee.

We really appreciate the diversity and imagination shown on the various allotments across the site. We would like you to bear in mind however, that we are a new association and whilst we want to be as tolerant and open minded as possible, there are some situations where we are still establishing the guidelines. We would like to be as accommodating as possible but sometimes the committee would like an opportunity to discuss your ideas before they are implemented. We don’t want to say no to people but the allotments are a community resource and we are responsible for managing them now, and for the future.

If you have any problems or would like to draw our attention to something you are welcome to attend any committee meeting please ask any member of the committee for a list of dates.
