- Results from the survey for the water supply showed that the height of the proposed tank would exceed the maximum feed height. A shorter tank was agreed on at £417 bringing the total cost to approximately £1100. Fundraising ideas were discussed to pay for the additional costs. For example, bring and buy sale, charging for talks from gardeners, coffee morning.
- Jan And Tim are to attend the next parish council meeting to answer questions from the results of the survey
- Questions were raised by Mrs Edwards from items in the newsletter.
Children have been playing on the allotments without close supervision.
a black, Labrador type dog has been seen on a number of occasions loose on the allotments, digging on plots and dog mess has been found.
Concerns were raised by the number of chickens on the allotments guinea pigs on a plot and the presence of a willow fence.
- Dave has spoken to Fiona regarding the state of her allotment. No payment has been received therefore 28 days notice will be given to pay the outstanding amount and improve the allotment condition.
- Brian Cook has been challenged after dumping garden rubbish in the copse.
- Vacant plots: Plot 28 has been taken over by John and Clare Williamson who will give up one of their plots. Mrs Hodge has decided to give up her plot after this year. A half plot will be offered. The Hewletts have started working on plot 51. Clare Howard has asked to be placed on a formal waiting list.
- A plant or seed swap/ table was suggested. This could be a regular or ad hoc arrangement.
- Mrs L Campbell asked about the possibility of enlarging the top gateway to allow access for larger tractors. The gate is of standard width and the track width only allows access for “regular” vehicles.
- Steve Lygo has offered help repair the metal gate that fell off its hinges.
- Hennock PC has been quoted £30 to cut the hedge of the eastern boundary. This was considered too cheap and Jan is to query with parish clerk.
- Any available grants or funding for sustainability are to be investigated.
The site inspection has been set for 7pm on Friday 4th July.
The date of the next meeting is Tuesday 15th July 2014 at the social club.
